How to send your gunstock or pistol grips for carving.
1) Disassemble your fire arm, separating the wood to be carved.
2) Send ONLY the stock or grips to be carved. Do not send the entire gun.
3) Wrap your gunstock / pistol grips in bubble wrap and then wrap cardboard around it and sealing with mailing tape prior to placing in a shipping box. In other words, double wrap it, once with bubble wrap and once with cardboard, before you put in the shipping box. This way, we are better assured that your gunstock will arrive in the same condition as when it left your home.
4) Make sure your Mail Order Form is completely filled out and include it with your order.
5) If you are paying by check or money order, please make it out to AdvanceTrack Marketing LLC and include your payment with your order.
6) If you are paying by PayPal, please make a copy of your paid receipt and include it with your order.
7) If you are using one of our available patterns from the web site, be sure to indicate which pattern you are choosing. Add any additional requests or instructions on a separate page.
8) If you have a pattern of your own, please call, or e-
9) A little info about wood. Some woods are hard or dense, while other woods are soft and supple. As you are making a decision as to what gun to carve into your family heirloom, it is important to know which wood will give you the best results.
A soft wood such as a birch results in a fuzzy image and neither you, nor I, will be pleased with the end result. I will not be able to do this for you.
A hard wood, such as walnut, maple, rosewood or similar good quality gunstock wood will lend to an image that will produce the true results that you are looking for.
(How do you tell the difference between a hard & soft wood? Press your fingernail into a soft wood such as pine, it will leave an indentation. You will not be able to make an indentation in hard wood.)
Most of all, if you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call… we would love to talk to you and can discuss your questions and concerns in order to provide you with your next family heirloom.
